AAS — Emerging Computer Technology

The 60-credit Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Emerging Computer Technology degree offers students both theory and hands-on training in computer equipment servicing and networking. The program prepares graduates for immediate entry-level employment with a company of any size that utilizes computer technology. Graduates will acquire the knowledge and skills required to cultivate a successful career in the continually expanding field of computer service and networking.
Employment
The fields of computers and technology are expected to continue growing. Employers look for people who have strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to communicate well with a variety of people. Employment opportunities are available in companies of any size that utilize computer technology, such as business management companies, hospitals, colleges and universities, local, state and federal agencies, and private enterprises.

Graduates adding industry certification such as A+, Network+ or CCNA have an advantage in the computer support field.
College Readiness
A student may be required to enroll in college readiness courses in reading, writing and math. A student’s scores on the Accuplacer assessment will determine enrollment in college readiness courses. The purpose of college readiness courses is to prepare students for the demands of a college-level curriculum. Credits may vary.
