The online Medical Coding program at NTC—Bemidji’s Technical College—has been ranked third-best in the nation by the website EduMed.org.
Medical Coding at NTC
NTC’s Medical Coding program provides graduates with a range of skills including translating and understanding code, medical terminology and facilitating documentation for patients.
The program provides a flexible learning environment where students can complete their certificates and further accreditation with asynchronous online courses.
The medical coding pathway contains avenues for mobility. NTC’s 29-credit certificate prepares students for an entry-level position and provides the foundation for advancement toward a 40-credit diploma or an associate degree in medical coding. The program also provides a foundation for a pathway in administrative leadership.
With growing demand for labor in the medical and billing industry, the use of virtual learning has become instrumental in getting students in touch with certifications. The profession also offers people flexibility to work remotely.
About EduMed.Org
EduMed’s rankings are based on self-reported data available through the federal government’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The website ranks schools and programs by looking at the number of online programs in a relevant subject area and a school’s percentage of online students, while also factoring in cost, levels of institutional grant aid, student-to-faculty ratios and the existence of academic counseling and career-placement services on campuses.
