LPN Step-In Admission Process

Program Start

The LPN Step-In (Bridge PN to RN) is a three semester program with a spring term start. This program follows a hybrid delivery model. Students will earn an Associate of Science degree and are eligible to take the registered nursing exam (NCLEX-RN) after completion of the program.

Application to Northwest Technical College (NTC) and application to the LPN Step-In program are separate. Students must be accepted to NTC before applying to the LPN Step-In program.

  • Applications to NTC may be submitted at any time.
  • Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis throughout the year until the program becomes full.
    • Admission to NTC does not guarantee admission to the LPN Step-In program.
    • Admission to the LPN Step-In program is required in order to enroll in nursing classes designated with the ADNG prefix.
    • IMPORTANT: Completion of NTC’s Practical Nursing program does not equate to an application to the LPN Step-In program. All students must fill out a program application to be considered for admission to the LPN Step-In program.
