Fifth Annual Community Health Worker Conference Set for May 20

Dozens of community health workers from northern Minnesota and beyond will gather in Bemidji on May 20 for Northwest Technical College’s fifth annual Rural Community Health Worker Conference.

The one-day conference will be held at Bemidji’s Hampton Inn and Suites, located at 1019 Paul Bunyan Drive NE. Registration is open now at $75 and includes conference materials, lunch and a six-hour continuing education certificate is available for an additional $25.

The conference is intended for employers and potential employers of community health workers, and will provide community health workers opportunities to network with colleagues.

Presenters at previous conferences have represented a broad spectrum of health care-related fields, including NTC faculty, Sanford Health employees and other community health professionals from the region. Presentations have covered subjects including community wellness grants, opportunities available in Minnesota’s community health worker programs, and ways community health workers can coordinate with independent living services.

The conference is made possible by support from Sanford Health, Northern Dental Access Center, Minnesota Association of County Health Plans, CHW Solutions, Minnesota Cancer Clinical Trials Network, Minnesota Community Health Workers Alliance, PrimeWest Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.

Registration for the Fifth Annual Community Health Worker Conference is open now at $75. Registration includes conference materials and lunch, and a six-hour continuing education certificate is available for an additional $25. Attendees must be 18 years of age.
